Privacy

This notice explains what Nuvens does with personal information collected through this website. It covers the website only — if you are already a client, the agreement between us governs how we handle data in a project.

Who we are

Nuvens Consulting Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 09937115, at 7 Bell Yard, London WC2A 2JR. We are the data controller for the information described here.

For anything in this notice, write to info@nuvens.co.uk or call +44 203 900 0870.

What we collect, and when

When you send us an enquiry. The contact form asks for your name, your work email address and what you are migrating from. We use what you send to reply and to have a conversation about whether we can help. Nothing more.

When you read the site, if you have agreed to analytics. Which pages you looked at, how you arrived, and technical details such as your IP address, browser and device. This is described in full under Cookies below.

Always. Our web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, in the ordinary course of running and securing the service.

We do not ask for, and have no use for, special category data. Please do not send us any.

Cookies

Nothing on this site is tracked unless you agree to it. We ask when you first arrive, you can decline as easily as accept, and you can change your mind at any time. Until you agree, the two services below are not loaded and set nothing.

Google Analytics tells us which pages are read and how people find us, so we know which parts of the site are worth the effort. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code, which recognise a returning browser. The service is provided by Google, and using it means some data is handled outside the UK under the safeguards Google provides for international transfers.

Snitcher looks up the organisation a visitor is connecting from, using the IP address, so we can see which companies are reading about migration. It identifies companies rather than individuals — it does not tell us who you are, and we have not turned on any feature that would. It sets a first-party cookie named snitcher_device_id lasting a year, and stores a session marker in your browser. Snitcher stores its data in the EU.

Those are the only two. There is no advertising, no remarketing, no social media tracking and no embedded content from other sites. Our typefaces are served from our own server rather than from a font service, so reading a page here involves no request to a third party beyond the two above.

Signed-in administrators of the site receive cookies from WordPress that keep them logged in. These are necessary for the site to work and apply only to our own staff.

Why we are allowed to use it

Enquiries: legitimate interests. You have approached us about our services, and replying to you is what you would expect. You can object at any time and we will stop.

Analytics and company lookup: your consent, which you give or withhold when you first arrive and can withdraw whenever you like.

Server logs: legitimate interests — keeping the site available and secure.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

These suppliers handle data on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions:

  • Amazon Web Services — hosts this website.
  • Our email provider — carries and stores your enquiry once it is sent. Enquiries reach us as email and live in our mailboxes like any other correspondence.
  • Google — analytics, only if you agree to it.
  • Snitcher — company lookup, only if you agree to it.

We will also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted once the conversation has clearly ended. Enquiries that become client work are kept with the records for that engagement. Server logs are kept for a short period and then rotated away. Analytics and company-lookup data are kept for as long as those services retain them under the settings we have chosen.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our using it, and ask us to transfer it. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time. Write to info@nuvens.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

Changes

If this notice changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the page.
